Gymnastics

Hi all!  We have recently arrived in Tuscaloosa and are looking to get involved in some activities.  I have been checking out the gymnastics nearby and I was looking for any information you have so that I can make a good decision for her.  She is very energetic and loves flips and cartwheels; however, she is also VERY shy around new people and may spend the first several minutes crying and trying to hide.  I'm looking for a gym that can help ease her fears and teach her to safely flip/cartwheel.

Hi April!  How old is your daughter again?

The two main gymnastics places in town are Tumbling Tides http://www.tumblingtides.com/ and Bama Bounders http://www.thebamabounders.com/.  Both are great, and both are about the same price.  We've been to birthday parties at both.  Currently mine are both taking lessons this summer at Tumbling Tides.  TT has a huge foam pit they can jump into or flip into or drop from ropes into, and that was the selling point for my girls - they asked to go to the one with the pit :-)

She is 4 and we have gone to both gyms to get some information.  She also loved the Tumbling Tides and chose that one.  We are going next week for a class to give it a try.  Wish us luck.
