Tusc Moms

I am looking for a vet. We have "adopted" a young female dog - their owners had to move after the tornado and couldn't keep her. They said she had her shots - but never provided the records and haven't returned our phone calls. I need to get her up to date on shots and get her fixed. I did a search to see if the topic has been discussed before - but nothing came up. I appreciate any advice you have. Thanks!

We love Dr. Canant.  He's patient and really takes the time both with the animal (we have cats and a dog) and with you to explain what's what.
We use Dr. May (the one on Greensboro, although we've been to the one in Northport, too). We really like him! We've also used Tidmore (or Tidwell? Whatever the one is on 69 in Northport) and did NOT like them.
I think it is relative and will depend on your personal experience. We have used Tidmore for years and like them, but you have to go early because they are always packed. But, I think their prices are reasonable and they have always taken care of our animals well.
I love Dr. Threadgill at Bryant Drive Animal Hospital. Their prices are very reasonable and Dr. Threadgill is amazing, we also love his helper, Hayes!
We've used Tidmore for 6 years. I love them and wouldn't go anywhere else. It's reasonably priced and they seen to care about what they do. I'm glad you brought this up because we've got to take our cat for her yearly physical.
Seem* sorry

Dr. Canant is the best!
We love May Vet. (The one on McFarland in Northport - there are three).
Another vote for Threadgill (and Hayes!). I adore this man so much. About 10 years ago, we adopted a heartworm-positive dog from metro, and Dr. Threadgill treated him until he was better. Unfortunately, the dog had a seizure in the middle of the night, and while there wasn't anything Dr. Threadgill could do, he met us at his office at 3 a.m. to try to help. He treated our awful, badly behaved cat, too, with lots of love. :) We live across town now, and the cat gets carsick, so we use Dr. Phillip Smith at Indian Hills Clinic, which we could literally walk to. So it's convenient...but expensive! However, we fostered kittens after the storm, and his office wasn't charging at the time for treating rescued animals. I thought that was sweet. You might want to look into it. They give good care, but again, it's pricey.
