NY mom

[Heather Milam]

My name is Heather. I moved to Tuscaloosa from NY last August to begin working at the University. I have one little girl who will be 4 in August and I'm due with another little girl again this August. This is my first southern summer and I'm amazed at the heat and humidity. I work in the dept. of theatre and dance - making costumes and teaching costume construction. I look forward to getting to know some local moms! It was a pleasure meeting the ladies at the babypalooza table.

I look forward to chatting with you on here and seeing you at Tuscmoms events in the future. Your job sounds like so much fun. At least UA has a great pool for you to stay cool. But I hear ya, I'm still not used to this humidity and I've been here 3 years.

Heather, it's nice to meet another working mom. I will also be working at the university starting this August. We just moved here from the Washington, DC area. I will be teaching in the hospitality dept.

I'm a working mom too - and my husband and I both work at UA (he's a professor in Comm Studies and I work at a research center doing grant management).

Heather - I was born in NY, and Tyra - when we moved here 5 years ago we moved from the DC area as well! (we were living in Laurel, MD and I was working in Alexandria, VA).
