Tusc Moms

I work FT at UA and my DH stays at home with the two youngest (18 mos & 2 mos). He does not have a resource like tuscmoms and will not go to events for the little ones because he feels it will just be all moms. Are there dad groups? Or are there dads present at things like Babytalk or the playdates? I do things on the weekend with my 5 yo and 18 mo old - but during the week there is no interaction for the little ones or him for that matter.

Heather,

I do remember that there was a Dad (recently moved here from Charleston?) who was posting about tummy bugs and playdates. I invited him to a couple of playdates, but didn't hear back - I think that he might have felt like your husband does. I'm so sorry that I don't remember his name, but you could probably track him down by searching old posts.

Places that I do run into SAHDs are Kindermusik at the UA Community Music School,  the train table at Barnes & Noble, and Snow Hintin Park on McFarland.

I was also going to recommend going to Kindermusik classes at UA. I've seen dads there with their kids before. Also, he might consider taking the kids to the baby or toddler time at the Tuscaloosa public library.

It's me... Ex-Charleston DadGuy. Still baffled by most things Tuscaloosa, still trying to meet folks, still pretty sure I'm not ready for TMoms Book Club or Margarita Nights...

Drop me a line!
