Storm Shelter Questions

We are looking into getting a storm shelter. I'd like to get it asap. Problem is... I am not from the south.. I never had weather like this up north.. and I don't know where to begin! I need some reviews. I need to know who you bought your shelter though, what it is made of, cost estimate and if your happy with it after installation. Did you have to get permits or anything? Please help!

We got our storm shelter from fainstormshelters.com out of Tennessee.   I contacted them through their website, and they completely delivered and installed our shelter.   I wrote a check when they got here.   It was just under $3K, and has been worth every.single.penny.  We have the deluxe underground shelter, but there are several types available... like safe rooms, above ground, hillside, etc.   Whatever meets your needs!   We did not have to get a permit, as we live outside city limits.
