Tusc Moms

I have come to the realization that I will not fit into my college clothes anymore!  So I want to sell them.  Any suggestions on a consignment store that is a good one?  These are nice, brand name clothes, but I'm not sure where to take them!  How does it work??

Thanks!

I've consigned a bunch, but not lately.

Bear with me bc I always get the names of places wrong :-)  I had the best luck consigning at Twice as Nice?? I think that's what it's called.  The one on University, down the street from CHOM.  You bring it all in and they inspect it and tell you what they want and what they don't.  I can't remember the percentage you get - it's at least 50%.  Maybe more, it's been a while.

There is also the other one that used to be next door - DeJa Vu (I hope I didn't switch the names).  That one is now on 15th street next to the 15th street diner.

If the stuff is juniors type clothing, you can bring to Platos Closet.  I think they buy it outright, but if it's more than a few years old they'll probably reject it.

There is also Top Drawer consignment on McFarland near CiCis (across from Mr. Gs), but they are very small and I"m not sure what kind of stuff they take.  I've been in once or twice, but never consigned my stuff there.

As an aside, I think it would be so fun to do a women/kids clothing swap type thing with Tuscmoms.  I don't know how these work, but I've heard about them.  Something along the lines of everyone brings GOOD condition used clothes and as long as you bring stuff, you can also shop from everyone else's.  Or we can just sell it yard sale prices, but amongst ourselves.
I love that idea, moozle! Anyone else up for something like that? I definitely have stuff to offer.

Thanks Moozle!  And first off...I do not own any juniors size clothing! LOL  I think I went from little kids clothes to "Ladies" sizes! haha.  The stuff is def. more than a few years old, but it isn't dated stuff.  Pretty timeless, blacks, greys, etc. stuff.  Do you have to decide the price to sell it, or do they tell you what to sell it for?  That's one of the problems...I have no idea how much to sell any of this stuff!  Up until now, I have just donated, but I realized that I have a lot of nice, expensive stuff that I could use the money for!  Lots of limited, Gap, express stuff.

As for the moms swap/sell sale, sounds good...the only neg. I could see is selling stuff to friends.  I might feel bad making a friend pay for something that I could just give her, but then I don't make any money! lol.  Maybe it's just me. :-)

The same people that do the Children's Closet consignment sale also do one for women's clothing- My Sister's Closet. As far as I know it works the same as the children's sale, but I've never sold at it or shopped at it so I don't know much about it. I've been wondering if there's any good stuff there or not.

I usually just donate my old clothes, because I figure most of it isn't anything I could get much for anyway.

That's the beauty with consignment shops.  You just hand it over and THEY price it and give you 50 or 60% of what it sells for.

I have never done My Sister's Closet or any of the kids ones bc I can't be bothered to price each thing, write up tags, put on hangers etc.  I'd rather have the store do the work and keep half the money.

My Sister Closet is February 12-16th, drop off is this Sunday-Tuesday. I think there is info at: www.childrensclosetsale.com

ps Ally,

There is a new consignment store on 43 just past Winn Dixie, right after the flower store.  I think they just buy whatever you have and then they sell it, but I am not 100% sure on that.
