January 2012 Book Selection

Hi all! For the book we will be discussing in January, we picked "The Hunger Games" by Suzanne Collins. Pick it up and join us in the new year!

Just wanted to note for those of you reading this ... several of us loved book 1 one so much that we've decided to read the whole trilogy! So if you like The Hunger Games, feel free to read all 3 (they are super fast reads) and maybe some of us can discuss the entire series, and others can discuss just book 1.

I am afraid that if the rest don't read all three books we are going to ruin it for them.

That's a good point.  We can always just discuss book 1 first, and then have a discussion later in the evening about the whole thing for anyone who wants to stay.   Let's see how it pans out when people start RSVPing for the date - it might be that everyone has read them all and it's not even an issue.

So, who all is going to read all three books?

I've already read all three books and REALLY hope I can make the discussion on either just book 1 (my fave) or all three.

I've already read all 3 books and they are phenomenal! Maybe we could go see the movie when it comes out this Spring as well!!!

So let's start thinking about a date for our next book club so we can go ahead and set the event.  It looks like we will be discussing this as a trilogy, since everyone responding has already read all three.  Maybe we should give enough time for any others who have just read book 1 to finish the other two.  How about the week of the 23rd?

The week of the 23rd is great for me. If it's Wednesday, I wouldn't be able to make it until 7:30 or so.
