Tusc Moms

So what do we want to do for our August play date?
I was thinking of a place we haven't been before. How about Moundville Archeological Park? I haven't been. Do you think it would make a good play date?

Or how about a morning or afternoon at Lake Lurleen? Probably morning before it gets too hot. The kids would have a blast playing in the water and sand. We could pack food and blankets.

Or we could always do CHOM or Shelby Park in this heat.

Thoughts? Any other ideas?

I haven't been to Moundville since they opened the new museum, but I don't know how much our little kids would get out of it. They could run around, but I don't think there's much geared towards preschoolers. It'd be great since it's just down the road from us, though!
And it's too hot to run around. Thanks for the input.
So maybe Lake Lurleen?? Something different.
We love Lake Lurleen so that sounds like a great idea!
Lake Lurleen? When?
We have not been to Lake Lurleen yet. Is the beach good for little kids? If so I would be up for that. :)

We went to the Shelby Park playdate in July and thought the splash pad was nice (although perhaps we would want to schedule another playdate there after many of the schools have started, to cut down on the number of big kids?).
I've heard that there is a fountain on River Road near the Bama Belle. Apparently it's shaded and it doesn't get crowded like Shelby Park. Has anyone been there?
I'm not sure about that. Anyone know?
We can plan a morning at the lake, if you ladies would like.
I think it's great for little kids. They can play on the beach and also swim. Jack loves digging in the sand and playing ball and then running to the edge of the water.
There is a charge per car, but it's not much. Maybe $3? Anyone know? I haven't been since last summer and I think it was $3. Is that OK?
Let's figure out a day! Fun!
Is next week too soon? Or should we shoot for the week after that? And what day works best for everyone? Early week, late week?
The charge is per person like kids under i think it was 6 (i could be way off) or something are free and then adults are like $2 or $3 a person. Sorry I can't really remember i'ts been a few months since we have been we started going to a new lake that is closer to us. But its not much at all and my daughter LOVES it.
The week of the 9th, anyone?
How about Thursday the 12th? Would that work for others?

What time?
Fine with me, what about you Kristi?
We might be up for this, just let me know what date and we can plan around it.
